Lets Talk About Video games

Lets talk about video games.

Now video games, may be seen as a waist of your time, something completely useless, and in general the worst thing, but to those of you who say that, then i say your hobbies are all evil and teach you to commit crimes.  You like knitting? More like being trained in the arts of knife combat.  Extreme couponing? Or should i say identity theft!

Honestly guys, that's the way you treat us as gamers. Like, its fine whenever some child that doesn't play video games destroys their dads car, but if he was playing GTA? The news teams are cluster bombing every channel with the headline "Boy destroys car because he was made evil from video games"

When shooting people in a movie or a TV show, its fine, the news doesn't care at all, but if its a video game? they implicitly mention in every sentence "Look at that guy shooting people, so violent" and it's just a desperate attempt at creating controversy between actual gamers!

The point of video games is to entertain, not to make us into trained killers, we really enjoy video games, and if you don't really like them, you don't have to yell it in the ears of everyone else.  My point is, don't just judge us for having a hobby, other people have them, so we can too.

The Pixar Theory (Part 1)

Now if you grew up around the same time i did (or have kids) then you'll know the famous pixar movies such as The Incredibles, Cars, Finding Nemo, the list goes on.  But have you ever stopped to think they were all in the same universe?

(NOTE: I did not come up with this theory, it was made by this man)

BRAVE:

The earliest movie in the pixar universe is brave.  It all starts when Merida discovers the will of the wisps (magic).  The magic turns her mother into a bear, and inanimate objects do human like things.  This magic was used by a witch who vanishes through doors (Doors? that sound familiar...)

THE INCREDIBLES:

Next up is The Incredibles, this movie does two important things, it show zero point energy, and AI robots, what does this do? well, the zero point energy starts to absorb into the toys, where they draw their power from, and the AI robot? this is the moment where we see the robots turning on their creators, becoming sentient.

TOY STORY:

Up to the plate is Toy Story.  Toys are now becoming alive due to the zero point energy, and they quickly realize that the love of humans is their energy source. Later on in the movie we see what happens to toys that don't have this love.

TOY STORY 2:

Now comes Toy Story 2, in this move the toys discover that it's dangerous to be isolated from humans. For example Jesse resents her owner for abandoning her.

FINDING NEMO:

Here in Finding Nemo, we find that fish are incredibly advanced from what we know.  In this movie we also discover that humans are polluting the water and stealing fish for experiments.  We see a resentment towards humans here.

RATATOUILLE:

Now we're in Ratatouille, This is where we first see animals exhibiting human like natures (walking on their hind legs, reading and cooking, etc.). It's also the first time we see human interaction between human and animal, but for the purpose of controlling them, Linguini knows how to do nothing, so Remy controls him. We also see that the rats are both scared, and feel hatred towards the humans.

TOY STORY 3:

Ending the Toy Story trilogy, we have this movie.  In this we see that toys are being abused both physically, and emotionally.  Lotso the huggin bear hates humans all together, so he takes care of his own kind, providing another reason for machines and objects to take over. Carl and Ellie then write to Andy saying telling him to get rid of his toys, because they know what's coming.

Theres the first half of this article, the second one is going up tomorrow, see you then!

Rubik's Cube! (Part 1.5)

When i made the previous tutorial, it seems i forgot a few things, so here i have part 1.5!

_________________________________________________________________________

So, with letters corresponding to specific movements on the cube, there are also words for the pieces on the cube, but don't worry, there's only 3 types, so lets get moving!

Corner Piece:
The corner piece is a part that always has 3 sides, and it is, as the name implies, on the corners of the cube.

Edge Piece:
The edge piece is a part that always has 2 sides, and is on the edge of the cube.

Center Piece:
The center piece is a part that always has 1 side, and never moves, it's always in the same spot, and is always in the center of the cube.

Anyway, made a short MS paint diagram for you guys to visualize it better:

Rubik's Cube! (Part 1)

Something you may not know about me is that i really like the Rubik's Cube, I picked it up about a year ago and couldn't put it down since.  For a lot of people, its almost impossible to solve without it unless you simply take it apart and put it back together (Which takes away most of the fun). So today i'm going to show you how to solve it!  Just keep in mind it takes a bit of memorizing.

_______________________________________________________________________________

To solve the Rubik's Cube you're going to need to learn the words i'll be using to specify different turns and such.

There are 6 important letters you must know the meaning of, these letters will represent what part you need to turn, and in which direction.  The letters are R(ight), L(eft), U(p), D(own), F(ront), B(ack). Since a picture means a thousand words, i used my sweet MS paint skills to create one:

This may look like a 5 year old drew this, but yes it was indeed me.

Now, the side that labelled F (for front) is always facing you when you do an algorithm. There is no specific side that is front, its just whats facing you. and of course R and L mean left and right, U and D mean up and down, B means back.

You may be wondering how turning works, well, whenever i say one of the six letters, you will turn whatever side the letter corresponds too.  An extremely important thing to remember is that you turn it clockwise, and when the letter is followed by an I or an apostrophe, turn it counter clockwise.

For your final exam i will have you perform the following algorithm on a Rubik's Cube, simply do R, U, R' if you did it right you will have turned the right side clockwise once, the top side clockwise once, and the right side counter clockwise once.

That's the end of this tutorial, if you want to see more of this, or have a suggestion, please comment and tell me.

First post!

So... This is the first post of my blog.  I made this blog cause i was reading another blog, and it occurred to me, why don't i make a blog? Seems simple enough, just go to blogger, and create a blog, so I did, and now we're here.

You might be wondering what this blog is about, but its just generally computer related things, at least that's what i had in mind.  You might see me making post about super off topic things like a movie that just came out, or something about the Rubik's Cube.

Anyway! I hope i'll be able to create entertaining content on this blog, and uh, yeah.
